Some CDs of sacred music. Archives and Special Collections Collections.

Volumes added per year



Biblical Studies, Patristics, Judaism and Asian Religions (particularly Islam) are especially

strong. Dogmatic and Systematic Theology, Philosophy of Religion, Christian Ethics, Liturgy,

Sociology of Religion and Church History are also well covered: Also Early Christian Art and

Archaeology. Special Collections collections are strong in 17th century controversial writings, Hymnology,

and Quakers.

Special Collections

Pratt Green Collection of Hymnology (ca 3,000 items), Sunderland Society of Friends (ca 880

books by and about Quakers), Bishop Cosin's Library includes much 16th and 17th Century

Theology, Routh Collection and others also include Theology.


Durham Priory and, Post-Dissolution, Cathedral Records. Diocesan and Episcopal Records,

chiefly 18th - 20th Century. See web pages for more information.
