The majority of the books were published before 1800. Main subject is Anglican and Scottish

Episcopalian theology. In particular: Bibles from 1536 to early C19; books of common prayer

and catechisms; ecclesiastical histories; sermons; biblical commentaries; Anglican

pamphlets; Tory pamphlets (some by Swift)

Special Collections

The above details refer to the Macintosh collection which takes its name from Donald

Macintosh, the self-styled last non-juring Episcopal priest in Scotland. The collection was left

to the town of Dunkeld (Perthshire) and later transferred to the Sandeman Library in Perth and

from there to the A.K. Bell Library in Perth
